FAQ - Adapters
ADAPTERS
What is an adapter?
Adapter is a small SW part, allowing communication between PROTEQU server and your devices. Each device communicates by his very specific own language (protocol), therefore we need to build the individual adapter for each specific device, utilizing his protocol. Imagine the adapter as a smart interpreter between 2 people, who speaks different languages. Using adapter, we allow PROTEQU to speak the language of your device.
We strive to build as many adapters as possible to cover wide variety of miscellaneous devices, available at the market worldwide. Building ńew adapters is an exciting job, which differentiate us from other solutions and which we thoroughly enjoy.
Internal and External Adapters
You do not need to rely on us, You can develop your own Adapters,
ATTENTION! External developer provides warranty and support for his own adapters!

What devices and systems are compatible with PROTEQU?
You can find the up-to-date list of compatible devices and systems at the section Adapters at this portal. In case the device of your interest is not yet integrated and supported, we are always happy to explore its integrability with its manufacturer, as we will need their co-operation during the integration process.
How the new PROTEQU Adapter development process work?
First, we need to get in touch with the manufacturer of your device. We ask him to provide following components, needed for its integration:
- the functional device demo set
- the native protocol to the device (alternatively its SDK or API)
- the support for our developers during the device integration
Once these pre-requisites are available, we can assign the new Adapter to our development plan.
The Adapter development usually takes between 2-3 weeks, depending on the complexity of the device and list of required functionalities to be build-in, usually outlined by your customer.
We welcome your involvement during the first touch with the device´s manufacturer as usually you got a direct contact available.
The last step of the new Adapter development is its functional test with the manufacturer of the related device. The test results document is signed by both, PROTEQU and the manufacturer responsible representative. The Adapters, tested by the manufacturer of related device have status of "Certified Adapters". We keep the full product warranty for any Adapter internally developed by Protequ. These Adapters are specifically marked at the "Adapters" section at this portal.
What is the cost of a new PROTEQU Adapter development?
The new Adapters are developed based on the concrete requirement of our certified partner for his customer, his real project. The new Adapter development is free of charge, providing the partner purchases specified number of its licenses. As the nature of devices varies, the minimum number of mandatory purchased licenses varies device from device.
